There are plenty of ways to be a part of the Lockerman community outside of the regular academic day. Check out some of these awesome clubs and activities you can choose from!
Art club will start January 11th. They will meet every other Thursday. The last meeting will be May 31st.
Badminton Club will begin on Wednesday, January 3rd. Meetings will be held on Mondays and end on March 15th. They will start right after school and end at promptly 3:30pm. You will be learning skills and playing badminton games. All students are encouraged to join because this club is for all levels of badminton players. We have all the equipment for the students to use during this club. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Ms. Ballance.
Chess and Games Club
The LMS Chess and Games Club has been in existence for three years. The club prides itself on being a fun and open environment for students of all skill levels in a wide variety of games to come and enjoy some games, food, and fun after school in Mr. Biddle's room. Students are encouraged to play chess and also to bring their own, non-electronic, games from home. New members are always welcome.
The LMS drama club meets every other week and introduces students to the art of acting, ending the year with a performance for family and friends. We start off the year practicing acting techniques and introducing students to acting. Toward the second half of the year we begin rehearsals for a performance that will occur around the end of March.

Field Hocky Club

In this club, students will work together, with new people, to build a robot that is required to complete various tasks. They also complete a research project and present their findings at a competition in December. Meetings are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:00.

The club will be playing board games and card games such as Uno, Yahtzee, and Connect Four. This club will begin in February and will be meeting once a week.
Mrs. Echternach/Mrs. Williams
Saxophone, Trumpet, Percussion, Bass Guitar, and Piano players may audition for the next years jazz band at the end of the year. Selected members meet everyday during Focus (Pd7). We play a variety of music from Jazz, to Blues, to Swing, to Funk, to Rock. The Jazz band performs throughout Caroline County at various events.
Hands-on with programming with robots and Bloxels.
Meets in the Makerspace and Media Center twice a month.
The LMS Marching Band is a Parade Band that performs throughout Caroline County in the fall, winter, and spring. We regularly play at the Denton, Ridgely, Greensboro, and Marydel Holiday Parades. We also play at NCHS Homecoming, Little League Opening Day Parade, and the Strawberry Festival Parade. The LMS Marching Band is made up of 40-50 of Lockerman's most finest and dedicated 7th and 8th graders. We meet every Tuesday after school during the fall.
National Geography Bee Prep

The running and walking club were established for kids who like to run or want to improved their mile time. Mrs. Shamp would like all members to run a 5K by the end of the year. There are 3 sessions; Fall, Winter (that will start in January and will be held inside), and Spring (that starts in April).
Mr. Austin, Mr. Bildstein, Mr. Ferkler
The purpose of the club is to help students with their soccer skills in a fun and competitive environment. The club will consist of drills, strategies and short-sided games that are used at the high school level. All club meetings will be held outside in the field behind the track at the school. Signups will be held in early April.
Student Government Association
SGA is a group of students elected by their peers to participate in designated areas of school government. SGA helps to promote school spirit and leadership among the students. Students will maintain a high level of personal conduct and they will demonstrate their Lockerman PRIDE and leadership qualities by serving as good examples of behavior through their words and actions.
SGA meets the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 2:45-4:00 pm.
