Clubs and Activities
There are many ways to be involved in extra-curricular activities at Lockerman Middle School. A variety of clubs are offered both before and after school. Students should listen to announcements each morning for information on club meetings and any forms that they may need to turn in to participate.
8th Grade Band Catch Up
The purpose of this club is to provide support for 8th Grade Band members that are unable to be scheduled into band for the year.
~ Every Wednesday
A total of at least 10 sessions held Mondays from 2:45-3:45. Please see Mrs. Rosas for specific dates and to obtain a permission slip.
During this club, students will learn skills and play badminton games.
~ Mondays for 10 week from 2:45-3:30; Start date TBD
The purpose of the club is to provide an opportunity for students to receive extra instruction on their instrument.

Black-Eyed Susan Book Club
The purpose of this club is to provide students the opportunity to read and discuss nominees for the state book award in order to qualify for voting in the Spring.
~ Every other Monday from Oct. - April
Chess and Gaming Club
During club meetings, students will play chess and strategy games to sharpen problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

The purpose of this club is to provide students an opportunity to develop keyboard skills, and singers an opportunity to learn stage presence when performing with a microphone.
~ Keyboard - Mondays 2:45-3:30
~Soloists - Tuesdays 2:45-3:30 during the Spring semester
A STEM club that will solve challenges and compete at the regional competition in March
~ Weekly in the Fall; 2:45-4:00
~ Two to three times a week in January, February, and March; 2:45-4:00

The LMS drama club meets every other week and introduces students to the art of acting, ending the year with a performance for family and friends. We start off the year practicing acting techniques and introducing students to acting. Toward the second half of the year we begin rehearsals for a performance that will occur around the end of March.
A non-denominations Christian sports ministry that focuses on Coaches, Campus, Camp, and Community ministry. This club is student-led.

FIRST Lego League
Mrs. Honer and Mr. Dunn
In this club, students will work together, with new people, to build a robot that is required to complete various tasks. They also complete a research project and present their findings at a competition in December.
~ Thursdays after school from 2:45-4:00
Field Hockey Club
During this club, students will be learning skills and participating in mini field hockey games.
~ Mondays for 10 week from 2:45-3:30 PM; Sept. 10 - Nov. 13
The purpose of this club is to take prospective NCHS student athletes in the Spring of their 8th grade year and expose them to the conditioning required to play high school sports.
~ Twice a week in April and May
Floor Hockey Club
Intramural floor hockey competition open to all students with grade and discipline monitoring throughout. Fosters teamwork and healthy competition.
~ Tuesdays and Fridays from 2:45 - 4:00 PM; Starting in March
History Day Club
The purpose of this club is for intense preparation and remediation for students creating projects and participating in the History Day Competition.
~ 2:45-3:45 once a week, December - March; Day of week TBD
Saxophone, Trumpet, Percussion, Bass Guitar, and Piano players may audition for the next years jazz band at the end of the year. Selected members meet every day during Focus (Pd7). We play a variety of music from Jazz, to Blues, to Swing, to Funk, to Rock. The Jazz band performs throughout Caroline County at various events.
LMS goes PURPLE
The purpose of the club is to help students understand the risks and dangers associated with drugs and alcohol; understand the signs and symptoms of use; and develop the skills to resist drugs and alcohol. This club will also be a safe place for students to find support among their peers.

The purpose of this club is to teach marching fundamentals and prepare students for parades.
~ Every Tuesday in the Fall
National Geography Bee Prep
Students in this club will hone skills practicing for the School/State/National Geography Bee.
~ Thursdays from 2:45-3:30; October - December
Lockerman's local chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.
~ Once a month on Thursday - officers
~ Once a month on Thursday with entire chapter
In this club, students will play games that require strategy and team building.
~ Thursdays in February, March, and April from 2:45-3:30
The purpose of this club is to organize and run the school store.
~ Assigned students every morning; Once a month after school
The purpose of this club is organizing the school yearbook, including taking pictures at school events and writing copy
for candid pictures.
